Just like the entry title denotes, kids are going cuckoo over this novelty item. It can be treated as either an
accessory or a toy. My little mushroom is not exempted from this colorful-rubber-band fad. She tried to convince me to buy a pack for her, but I nudged it. I refused to make a special trip to the department store just for this. The only store we frequent is the grocery shop, which does not carry this stuff.
Imagine her delight when she found out that we were bound to the department store! Everything was fine with me; until I discovered that a 24-pcs pack of this item costs US$4.99. It is expensive for a pack of rubber band! I was hesitant at first. To her, it’s one of my stingy moments. With (almost) teary-eye, she convinced me further. To cut the story short, she succeeded! She went home with Silly Bandz wrapped around her wrist. I got one rule for her though – never wear too much of it. It may block the circulation of her blood in her limbs. So far, she’s been good at following the rule.
It has been four days now since we bought the rubber bands, and she still wears it around her wrist. Kids!
