These are two different words that are separated by a very thin line, depending on who is using it to whom. Case in point – my little mushroom calls me stingy whenever I do not buy the things she wants, but if you ask me – I am frugal. I buy what I need, and not what I want.
Whenever I hit the store, I have my personal rules to follow. I usually ask questions like – Do I need this? Do I have a coupon for this? Is it on sale? I applied the same rule when I went to get myself a new pair of running shoes at Bealls. I used a $10.00 printable coupon, which is applicable to purchases $50.00 above. Going home, I was a happy camper.
If you get too many junk mails in your mailbox, do not throw it yet. Scan and check out for coupons for products and services that you may need. Buy a coupon organizer, and keep track of your shopping list. Little cents here and there are worth the effort. It is far from being a religion, but a sporadic application is better than nothing at all. Some people are shy of using discount coupons. I tell you – it is better than using food stamps and other government-subsidized purchases. I have nothing against these goverment assisted programs. My point is - keep yourself above the water without depending on anybody or any entity.
