Vacation time is coming. Most of us are probably looking for a place away from home. There are too many options – a beach side or a wooded area. Wherever it is, relaxation is the utmost concern. Planning for a vacation seems a very enjoyable task, but in reality, it can be stressful, especially if we are looking for a place other than our homeland.
This past weekend, I have a realization. I experienced a “vacation time” in our own neighborhood in just a matter of hours. Together with some Filipina friends, my little mushroom and I went to experience the beach side of Ormond Beach the very first time. I know, I have lived in Ormond for almost two years but I have not been to the beach until last weekend. Sad, isn’t it? I have been to Daytona Beach, Flagler and St. Augustine beaches though.
Back to my Ormond Beach’s beach side story – I was really astonished and amazed. It’ s so wonderful. The serenity of the environment soothed my whole being. I did not have to swim in the water to appreciate nature even more.

Lesson learned –
Sometimes, we look too far that we can not see a scenic jewel before our very own eyes. See what is nearby and be thankful for it.
