For the past three years, the little mushroom has not failed in sending her Christmas wishlist to Santa Claus in the mail. Since she attached a stamp in it, it was treated like a regular mail. She mailed it last Monday, and four days later, a reply was received. When I saw the letter in the mail, I was a bit hesitant of giving it. I had a strong feeling that this letter has the same written content as with the last two letters. Truth be told – it has!

A reply letter from Santa Claus
Well, last year, she was too excited to complain or compare. This time, she did not let it pass. I never realized that she kept last year’s letter until she asked me – “Is Santa Claus for real? Why is he sending the same letter over again”. Disappointment prevailed. I was mum for a while, finding the best answer. I uttered the lamest alibi, “Maybe he is just tired of writing, so he decided to send the same letter as last year’s”. Did she buy it? I had no idea. The last thing I want is to kill the Christmas spirit in her or burst her bubble.
As you know, these Santa Claus letters are actually from the US Postal Office, as part of keeping the Christmas spirit alive in children. Well, I just hope that they realize that sending out the same letter (content) every year defeats their purpose. Children are smarter these days. I know, it is noble deed (and all), but come on, guys. Can you at least give a variation to your letters?
Before I end my entry, let me share what the mushroom wrote in her wishlist, which I learned before she sent the letter - a laptop or a Nintendo DSi XL! I do not know yet if Santa will give her any of these two gadgest because of two reason – (1) She is too young to have a laptop, (2) She already has a Nintendo DS Lite. Hmmm, let us wait and see.
