It is another long holiday weekend! Two more sleeps and we will be welcoming the year 2012. I envy those people who will spend it with their whole family and relatives. In my case, it is just my family and no relatives at all. Dinner will be simple as usual. Anyway, it will still be great. I am with the Knight and the little mushroom.
Aside from the celebration, I am also researching about the upcoming tax season. I need to know what’s new and what’s not for tax year 2011. With the assistance of a tax software, I usually prepare my tax returns. Thanks to my unsatisfactory experience with H&R Block a few years ago, it gave me the push to do it myself.
It is also the time to re-evaluate my finances, eliminating what is unnecessary. The first in the list are credit cards with annual fees and high APRs. I am grateful for websites that give credit card ratings. Comparing the pros-and-cons of each card will be easier and quicker. I am lucky though, because I have not fallen into the temptation of maxing out my cards. Besides, the very reason I got them is because of the goal to create a credit history. Now that I have accomplished that, it is time to cut-off what needs to be cut-off.
